majority of my wardrobe, we're looking at
a lot of H&M, ZARA and Forever21.

Style Profile: Amal Alamuddin

Style Profile:
Amal Alamuddin

As if we weren't jealous enough as it is for being the new Mrs. Clooney,
her killer style and fashion sense has us envying her even more.
Amal Alamuddin popped on the scene when she began dating George
in late October of 2013 and since then she has been capturing our eyes
by flauting her amazing style (and perfect hair..lucky betch).

Her style is chic, elegant, effortlessly glam and whether
she is running to work or hitting the town with her
handsome hubby, she always looks fab.

Here are some
of my favorite looks so far..

Falling Flat

Despite being a fashionista, I'm not a really a huge
shoe snob. I have a handful of great shoes that
I am in love with and wear frequently, ranging from
heels, flats to sandals, but when it comes to which kinds
are my favorite... flats are the winner.

There is something about flats that makes me feel "parisian chic"
whenever I slip a favorite pair on. It reminds me of the fabulous
woman who walk around Paris in their effortlessly chic
outfits, hopping from market to market.

From simple black flats to a fun leopard print,
here are a few of my favorites that will jazz up
your fall wardrobe without breaking the bank.

(Adding a pop of print or afun pattern in a shoe is the perfect
way to add that little fun to a simple outfit)

(Okay so these may break the bank a little.... but there
is nothing worse than walking around in uncomfortable
shoes, and I swear by these flats. They are one of my
favorites and so so comfortable!)

Playing Dress Up

Perhaps one of my favorite things about styling
is being able to create a beautiful story using some
of my favorite things; clothing, jewelry and accessories.

Whether it's a theme, concept or mood that I'm trying to
portray, finding the right pieces to build your masterpiece
is something I love. I am such a perfectionist when it comes
to creating the perfect look, and I may look at hundreds of
dresses and jewels before finding exactly what it
is that I'm looking for.

When it comes to special event dressing, being
organized and having a vision of what you want
is important. I never usually go into something
without an idea in my head of what I want to create
and when I do get stumped, I turn to books,
old magazines and movies for inspiration.

When I began my search
for what to wear to one of my dearest friends wedding,
I knew I wanted glamorous, simple and feminine.

When I start, I like to be able to see everything that I'm working
with so I can compare and contrast, and again,
build a beautiful story. It's important to remember
that not everything has to match, as long as all
of the pieces make sense and compliment eachother.
I had so much fun piecing
together this look and can't wait to wear it for the
big night... but more importantly, I cannot
wait to see my beautiful bestie walk down that isle!!!

Bending The Rules:
White After Labor Day

Fashion is always evolving; whether its a new trend
or a recycled one (Shoulder pads anyone?).. However most
recently, some fashion rules have been bent such as wearing
white to a wedding (With the Brides approval of course) and more
recently, wearing white after Labor Day.

Sporting rich creams and winter whites is the perfect
way to add a pop of brightness to the dreary weather and
darker hues. The key to wearing white in the Fall and
Winter is all about fabrics and textures; choose heavier
fabrics like cashmere and wool and textures such as
tweed which is my absolute favorite!

Here are just a few ways you can
incorporate white and creams into your
Fall and Winter Wardrobe!

Happy Fall!!

The Perfect Coat of Fall.

The Perfect Coat
of Fall.

There are a handful of reasons why Fall is my favorite season..
but two stand out more than the rest. The smell of the air in the morning
and that autum chill that makes you want nothing more than
a pumpkin spice latte and an oversized sweater.
(And everything Fall Fashion related..Can I have one of each??)

There is something about the layers, textures and colors that
have me swooning, and jackets and coats are in my
opinion the cherry on the sundae that pulls
together an outfit. I mean, how bad would it be if you had your favorite
outfit on and put a leaf-size trash bag over yourself.. pretty much the same
thing in my opinion.

Luckily for you, I've pulled together some of my favorite outwear
pieces for this upcoming fall season based on different style types.
And don't worry, I don't heavily indulge into trends so all of these
pieces are classic and timeless, so you can wear them season after
season!

Best Dressed List:
Emmy Awards Edition

There is nothing more exciting to me than the an award show..
and by award show I really mean the red carpet. Hollywood's
elite has access to the best dresses, jewels, shoes and
glam squads in the world and watching the final product
step onto that carpet for a big night like The Emmy Awards makes me
feel like a little girl at Christmas time.

Every fashion blogger has their own sense of style
and what makes them tick, but when it comes to me,
I love glamour, feminine pieces and and a little fashion risk,
whether it be with a bold color or striking cut. Sooo many
women looked beautiful last night, but only 6 made my
best dressed list..

In my eyes Gwen Stefani can do no wrong. She has a killer body and fashion
sense so when she showed up on the red carpet in Swarovski Versace I was
in awe. It's the perfect representation of her edgy, rock n' roll sense of style.
The other half of Matthew McConaughey, Camila Alves looked absolutely
stunning in Zuhair Murad's Resort 2015 Ready-to-Wear Collection. The sheer
and white detailed dress fit the brazilion model like a glove and she accessorized
it perfectly with simple Neil Lane jewels and Brian Atwood pumps.
OITNB star Taylor Schilling looked gorge in a simple beaded gown by
Zuhair Murad Couture and sported some amazing FOREVERMARK
diamonds to add some Old Hollywood Glamour.

Normally I tend to stray from colors (maybe because my whole wardrobe
is black and white) but when we fit Teyonah Parris in this beautiful
eye popping Christian Siriano, she worked it like no other. Not only do I
love this look, but her confidence shines through.. it doesn't hurt that the
girl knows how to pose like a pro. At first glance I wasn't a huge fan of
the white strapless number Sofia Vergara wore, but as I saw closer details
of the dress it started to grow on me.  Roberto Cavalli screams sex appeal
and also knows how to dress a woman with curves so this was a match
made in heaven. One of my biggest fashion pet peeves is when women
don't dress their age and often times I find younger stars either dress to
"teeny bopper" or "too mature", but not Sarah Hyland. Stylist Brad
Goreski killed it with her in Christian Siriano. The crop top and long
skirt was fun and playful but still classic and sophisticated.
Love, love, love!

Who were your red carpet favorites from The Emmys?

My LA Adventure

My Los Angeles
 Adventure. xo

Embedded image permalink

I can still feel the utter excitement and anxiety of watching my car get picked up
at a local supermarket parking lot back home in Newburyport as it made its
journey to the West Coast. Pablo the truck driver was 3 hours early when he called me
at 5:45am and said that he was on 95 and would be here in 20 minutes. I ran out of
bed in attempt to make myself look not look like E.T. and drove my Toyota Camry
that was filled with pictures, clothes, fake plants, coffee table books and more clothes
to be picked up and shipped to California.

Seeing my car lifted onto the truck was one of the first times that it actually started
to settle in that I was moving my life to the opposite side of the country to pursue
a dream in Fashion and Entertainment. LA was everything I expected it to be but
definitely an adjustment. I wouldn't necessarily say I've been "sheltered" but have
never had to make a big transition like moving to a big city all by myself before.

Navigating this huge city, meeting new friends and networking is hard as well as
building a name for myself in a city were so many come here with big dreams
and they let them crumble because they get caught up in the "Hollywood lifestyle".
I for sure have my fun but make sure I keep my eye on the prize and work
hard everyday.

I have a love hate relationship with Los Angeles; the opportunities are endless,
the weather is amazing and I've met some amazing people here, but the traffic is
horrendous, it is a little more laid back than I like, and I miss my family and friends.
Coming here has been an experience that is amazing/challenging/scary/exciting,
and the six months I've been here have flown by. While I do not yet have my own
TV Show or Clothing Line like I one day dream of having, I have had some amazing
experiences as well as some that were not so pleasant (borderline embarrassing,
upsetting and stressful).

Allow me to share with you some of my peaks & pits of
my adventure in Los Angeles..

Scoring my first interview/audition for a Fashion Reality TV
Show only to leave an impression on the producers by
being walked to the door and falling down a WHOLE flight
of stairs in front of everyone because my heel slipped on the floor.
I played it cool as everyone thought I probably broke my leg and
walked out where I was convinced I broke my butt (can you do that?)
and cried in the car til I was able to laugh about it 5 minutes later.

Nailing two amazing Fashion Internships!
*One with a Fashion PR Firm right at the start of award
season were I got to see the in's and the out's of the
fashion chaos during The Oscars and The Golden Globes.

*And another with a great Celebrity Fashion Stylist we we
dressed some of Hollywood's favorite Television and
Movie Stars for red carpet events, magazine shoots
and TV appearances.

Becoming Best Friends with a fellow intern from Paris where
we spent our time indulging driving around exploring the city,
pulling pranks at the office, hiking, drinking (how did we end up
at The Abbey?), lounging poolside, dancing, pulling more
pranks, meeting new friends and eating froyo.

Meeting and being in the presence of some of my
idols (world famous fashion stylists) at events or
just out and about. Something I love about this city
is you never know who your going to meet or run
into whether your going out to dinner or getting your cup
of morning coffee.

Being in 489572 fender benders and having my car broken
into twice in three months, once on my birthday. Woof. Who ever
said Massachusetts drivers are bad have never seen people drive in LA.
Absolutely Terrible.

Waking up the morning after I got here and going for a
hike by myself at the famous Runyon Canyon was a great moment.
I got there on the early side (Most of LA doesn't wake up until 10am)
so it was pretty quiet and standing near the Hollywood Sign and
looking over the city gave me a huge feeling of accomplishment that
I had arrived and was ready to start my adventure.

I have had such amazing experiences and met
so many great people in the 6 months that I have lived here,
I know that the next 6 will only be filled with more
excitement, lessons to be learned and great opportunities.

Thank you so much for following my journey!!
