What Will You Do Different?
I was walking to my class today in a tired daze wondering
if I would have time to grab a coffee at Starbucks.
I peaked my head into the one I walk by on Clarendon St. every
other morning to find the line was longer than normal, and decided
I probably shouldn't get in it or else I'd be late.
For something so small, It put a damper on my morning
and I let it get to me until I got through class just fine without it.
We would all be lying if we said little things like that
didn't get us frustrated from time to time, and it wasn't until
my walk back to my car which includes walking right thru
where the Boston Marathon Bombings took place and watching
a video about Zach Sobiech, inspired me to
change the way I think and act.
We all can read or watch something and interpret
it differently, but after watching this video about
Zach Sobiech, ( a teenage boy who lost his battle to cancer
yesterday), I'm sure many of us got the message to
live our lives to the fullest because that is exactly what
Zachary did. He chose to film the last months of his life
and use his terminal illness as a lesson to all
of us who would someday watch his video about
how lucky we all are, and soak in every minute and make
them count.
Despite the pain, I hope they find comfort knowing that a 20+ minute
video of Zach smiling and appreciating every minute of his life
will forever change the lives of those who've watched him.
Lesson's I've learned from
Zach Sobiech
1. Don't be Afraid to Fall in love.
2. Be present and in the moment with
your family and friends. Laugh
and make memories as often as you can.
3. You can either be scared to sit
in the dark and worry about whats out
there or close your eyes and be at peace.
4. Do what you love, and follow your passion.
Believe in something bigger than yourself.
5. Smile and try to see
the good in everything.
I'm very grateful I had the opportunity to watch
Zach's video, and from that I have taken a few things
away from it. Hopefully after watching his video
and reading this blog, it'll make you
appreciate life a little more and change the way you
act when life doesn't go the way you want it to.
